What's going on with Maynard's Groovy Bible Tunes, from day to day...
Probably not a question many people ask!
But I've been struggling with getting Sheet Music to look good. For years I've used Melody Assistant, and I've been pretty happy with the results , but I've always felt I 'could be better' - a feeling enhanced by the occasional groan about "reading the words" or something from the church music group when we're singing one of the songs!
So I thought I'd try something else. Sibelius? Ha Ha Ha. $$$$$$
I found "Lilypond", which makes fairly big claims for itself, and thought I'd give it a try. Luke 19v10 and King Seekers both have sheet music produced with Lilypond. I'm really impressed - especially with King Seekers. I think it's produced something that's well spaced and very readable.
BUT: it took me HOURS!!! Hours and hours and hours. And now, thinking about setting the sheet music for "Party Party", can I remember how Lilypond works? I've looked at the markup file for King Seekers. Even with my copious comments, can I remember what it all means?!
So I had another go with Melody Assistant - and, with a little fresh thinking, and its lovely GUI, I think I've managed to produce something pretty good - in no time really. So it's back to Melody Assistant for me.
